Just about perfect in the second half, Maryland rolls past Virginia

CHARLOTTESVILLE — The Maryland football team wasn’t perfect in the first half — far from it, in fact. The Terrapins were quick to draw a penalty flag or give up a long completion. They let Virginia hang around for much of Saturday night’s matchup under the Scott Stadium lights.

But with an impressive second half, Maryland pulled away, rebounding from last week’s painful loss to Michigan State with a 27-13 victory. After trailing 13-7 at halftime, the Terps pitched a second-half shutout for a comfortable victory over a former ACC rival.
