Coppin State will hold a news conference Wednesday to introduce former Maryland star and Baltimore native Juan Dixon as its new men’s basketball coach, the school announced Tuesday.
Dixon, 38, was hired to replace Michael Grant, who was fired in March after three straight losing seasons. Grant earned $144,000 in 2015, according to the state’s public salary database.
The news conference will be held at 11 a.m. on the second floor of the Talon Center. The public is invited.
This will be the first Division I head coaching job for Dixon, who spent last season coaching the University of the District of Columbia women’s team, which plays at the Division II level.
