Maryland held a press conference Tuesday, headlined by President Wallace Loh and athletic director Damon Evans, to address a litany of issues stemming from Jordan McNair’s death.
Loh and Evans each began their respective statements by expressing their sorrows and sincere apologies to the McNair family, who they said they visited earlier Tuesday.
“I said to the family, the university owes you an apology,” Loh said. “You entrusted Jordan to our care and he is never returning him again.”
Following the press conference, Hassan Murphy, one of the attorneys representing the McNair family, released a statement from Jordan’s parents, Tonya and Marty.
