For the second straight offseason, former Maryland basketball player Jake Layman will have a shot to advance to the NBA Las Vegas Summer League Finals.
Layman and the Portland Trail Blazers moved on to the semifinals, topping the Boston Celtics 95-80 in the quarterfinals on Sunday night. After starting summer league on a hot streak, the former Terp had an off scoring day, with just eight points on 3-of-8 shooting from the field (0-for-3 from beyond the arc).
Layman’s primary contribution in the win came on the defensive end.
