Former Maryland forward Jake Layman has signed a three-year contract with the Portland Trail Blazers.
Layman, who was taken in the second round of last month’s draft with the No. 47 pick overall, received a $2.8 million package with the first two years guaranteed.
“It’s a terrific opportunity for him. The Blazers treated him very, very well,” said Mark Bartelstein, Layman’s Chicago-based agent. “He’s very excited, the Blazers are very excited. It’s a terrific deal for the team and for Jake.”
Portland traded a future draft choice and gave the Orlando Magic $1.
