There were times during Marylanc coach Mark Turgeon’s first three seasons when fans didn’t show up for his team's home games because they feared the Terps wouldn’t give the opposition much of a game.
Though Maryland announced its eighth sellout of the season, Xfinity Center was only a little more than half-filled Wednesday night, partly because the students are still on winter break and partly because the prospect of Rutgers being competitve with Turgeon's now-powerful Terps were pretty slim.
The third-ranked team in the country lived up to its lofty ranking and the lowly Scarlet Knights lived down to being heavy underdogs.
