Maryland football’s regular season ends Saturday in Happy Valley, with a road game against No. 15 Penn State (8-3, 5-3 Big Ten).
The Terps (5-6, 3-5) are coming off back-to-back nail-biter losses, and still sit a game away from bowl eligibility. Maryland lost to Indiana by two on the road before nearly toppling No. 10 Ohio State but falling 52-51 in overtime. Running back Anthony McFarland was named conference Freshman of the Week for his performance against the Buckeyes, where he went for 298 yards and two touchdowns. The Terps have one last chance to earn bowl eligibility, but it won’t be any easier.
