Maryland football will begin the 2021-22 season against the West Virginia Mountaineers in College Park on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
Junior quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa looks to lead a Maryland offense full of weapons on the outside, including sophomore wide receiver and Maryland native Rakim Jarrett, as well as veteran receivers Dontay Demus Jr. and Jeshaun Jones.
The team will also look to fill the void in the backfield left by Jake Funk, with fifth-year senior running back Tayon Fleet-Davis slated as the starter for the season opener. Sophomore running backs Isaiah Jacobs, Challen Faamatau and Peny Boone are all listed as backups to Fleet-Davis and will contend for more playing time as the season progresses.
