Maryland football plays its third-straight AP top-20 opponent on Saturday, and it wasn’t been pretty against the first two. The Terps look to stay more competitive against No. 19 Nebraska than they did against then-No. 2 Michigan and then-No. 6 Ohio State.
Maryland may have a boost as Nebraska quarterback Tommy Armstrong’s status is unclear for the game. The Terps have their own problems, though, with freshmen Lorenzo Harrison and D.J. Turner suspended indefinitely following a BB gun incident.
The Terps are still searching for that elusive sixth win needed to become bowl-eligible. Fans, and possibly a few players, might be sneaking glances at next week’s home matchup against Rutgers to do the trick rather than against the Cornhuskers.
