After nearly a week off, Maryland men’s basketball begins its most difficult three-game stretch of the season tonight against red-hot Purdue.
The No. 24 Terps cruised to a 60-45 victory over Nebraska last Wednesday. Jalen Smith (18 points, 11 rebounds) and Bruno Fernando (13 points, 19 rebounds) recorded double-doubles, while the defense smothered the Cornhuskers, allowing a season-low 21.1 percent shooting. Now, the No. 12 Boilermakers come to town, presenting the Terps their most significant challenge at home since Virginia visited in late November.
Purdue has won eight straight and has vaulted to second place in the Big Ten, just a half-game behind Michigan.
