When Melo Trimble’s three found the bottom of the net and the final buzzer sounded on Maryland basketball’s 63-60 win Saturday over Michigan State, the Terps assured themselves the No. 3-seed in the Big Ten Tournament, good for a double-bye.
But the rest of the conference tournament picture wasn’t clear until after four Sunday games. Wisconsin clinched the No. 2-seed with a win over Minnesota, who held onto a double bye of its own thanks to Northwestern’s defeat at the hands of Purdue.
