Maryland senior quarterback Perry Hills will miss Saturday’s game against Minnesota with a shoulder injury, meaning true freshman Tyrrell Pigrome will make his first career start, according to a person with knowledge of the situation.
Hills, who will be in uniform on Saturday but did not throw during warmups, was scratched from the lineup on Saturday morning because of the ongoing ailment in his throwing shoulder, which the senior quarterback first injured during an overtime win over Central Florida in September. He re-injured the shoulder in the first half of last week’s 38-14 loss to Penn State, sitting out the final two quarters despite desperately pleading with Maryland Coach DJ Durkin to re-enter the game.
