Avery Edwards didn’t have time to reflect on his first career reception during last Saturday’s 50-21 win over Richmond, a nondescript four-yard catch off a screen late in the second quarter. If the freshman tight end has learned anything about Maryland’s no-huddle offense in his short time in College Park, it’s to operate at a rapid pace. So he quickly got up off the turf, dropped the ball and lined up for second down. A few seconds later, he made his second career catch to give Maryland a first down and help set up a Terrapins’ touchdown two plays later.
