Growing up outside of Washington, former Maryland defensive back Sean Davis modeled his game after Redskins great Sean Taylor. During the weeks and months leading up to the NFL draft, he said he wouldn’t mind following in the late Taylor’s footsteps and joining Washington, even if it meant he couldn’t wear the No. 21 he sported for four years in College Park.
But when Pittsburgh selected Davis in the second round with the No. 58 overall pick on Friday night, he had a different connection to the Steelers.
“My dad loves the Steelers,” Davis said in a conference call with reporters.
