After a breakout senior season, former Maryland and McDonogh standout Josh Woods is now a Chicago Bear.
After dazzling the team during a three-day minicamp, Woods was signed by the Bears on Friday.
The Baltimore native will be the second Terp to go to Chicago, joining fellow Maryland linebacker Cavon Walker. After starting at safety last year, Woods will reportedly make the switch on the professional field to linebacker.
The 6-foot-1, 204-pound Woods earned the attention of professional teams this past season, when in 10 games (nine starts) he had 62 tackles, 4½ tackles for loss, four pass breakups, two interceptions and a forced fumble for a career year.
