Former Florida State cornerback Marcus Lewis announced Saturday on Twitter that he will transfer to Maryland. Lewis, a former four-star recruit from Washington, will have two years of eligibility remaining after sitting out the 2017 season in accordance with NCAA transfer rules.
Lewis made his announcement in College Park during a cookout for current high school prospects the Terps are trying to recruit. Lewis was rated the No. 8 athlete in the country and the No. 2 overall player in the Washington area coming out of high school, according to 247Sports.com.
After starting five of Florida State’s first eight games last season, Lewis didn’t play in the team’s last five games, all of them victories, while struggling to get healthy.
