Lacrosse always seemed easy for Louis Dubick, but the sport delivered one of the more difficult decisions of his young life two years ago. Before he graduated from Churchill last spring, Dubick first had to make a decision on where to continue his college career. At the top of his list, among others, were rivals Maryland and Johns Hopkins. When Dubick became the most torn, he made one phone call to the person who knew more about the rivalry than most.
His grandfather, Harry, had grown up attending lacrosse games between the two schools, and although he was recruited to play football in College Park in the 1950s, he went on to play two years for the Terrapins’ lacrosse team.
