Three-star Texas athlete Evan Fairs committed to Maryland Friday, the prospect announced on Twitter. Fairs chose Maryland over reported offers from New Mexico, Texas State, Texas-San Antonio and Sam Houston State. He ranks as the No. 261 wide receiver in the Class of 2016 and the No. 224 player in Texas by the 247Sports Composite.
The 6'2 180-pound prospect from Foster High School (Richmond, TX) played 10 games at wide receiver in 2015 and recorded 33 receptions, 705 yards (21.4 yards per catch) and 10 touchdowns with his longest catch being 74 yards.
What stood out right away was he beats corners who play off of him with ease, his size allows him to shield defenders on inside routes and he's got impressive breakaway speed.
