Local 2016 offensive tackle recruit Elijah Johnson has committed to Rutgers, the prospect announced at his high school Thursday. Johnson was also considering Maryland, Pittsburgh, West Virginia and Boston College.
The 6'6 310-pound offensive lineman from DeMatha Catholic High School is a 2-star prospect who ranks as the No. 141 offensive tackle in the Class of 2016 and the No. 38 player in the state of Maryland.
Johnson would have joined Lorenzo Harrison and DJ Turner as Maryland commitments from DeMatha, a school the Terrapins had previously struggled to pull talent from.
