Maryland safety Qwuantrezz Knight announced Monday he would be transferring from the program.
Knight had appeared in four games this season as a rotational defensive back, recording five total tackles, a tackle for loss and a forced fumble. He’s played mostly safety in his college career, but has also appeared on depth charts as a nickel corner. Knight posted 27 total tackles as a true freshman in 2016 and 10 last season.
He’s the first player to leave the program following the events of last week, when Maryland reinstated then fired head coach DJ Durkin in a two-day span.
