Damon Evans, who has been Maryland’s acting athletic director since former athletic director Kevin Anderson went on a six-month sabbatical last October, was named Anderson’s permanent replacement Monday by university president Wallace D. Loh.
An introductory news conference has been scheduled for Tuesday.
Anderson resigned in April after serving nearly 7½ years.
