The Maryland men's basketball team is ranked No. 2 in this week's AP Top 25 poll, out on Monday. The Terps take on North Carolina in Chapel Hill on Tuesday, in a game that could catapult them to No. 1 in next week's rankings.
It's Maryland's second consecutive week in the No. 2 slot. The Terps moved up from third to second in last week's ranking, after previous No. 1 Carolina took a home loss to Northern Iowa. This remains Maryland's highest ranking since its 2002 national championship season.
The Terps, overall, had a quality week to keep their ranking.
