Maryland's men's basketball team remained at No. 3 in this week's Associated Press poll, released Monday afternoon. The Terps won their season opener on Friday in College Park, defeating Mount St. Mary's 80-56.
The Terps received 14 first place votes this week, the same number that they received last week. Maryland received six more first place votes than Kentucky, but due to have points are accumulated is behind the Wildcats for the second consecutive week.
Wisconsin, one of six Big Ten teams in last week's preseason poll, dropped out of the rankings following a home loss to Western Illinois, 69-67.
