Colleen Sorem has been named deputy athletic director at Maryland, new athletic director Damon Evans announced Monday.
Sorem, who came to Maryland from Towson as the department’s business manager in 2014, will oversee the day-to-day administration of the department and serve as its chief financial officer.
The responsibilities are similar to what Evans had before becoming acting athletic director last October when former athletic director Kevin Anderson went on a six-month sabbatical.
After Anderson resigned in April, Evans was named to the position on a permanent basis in late June.
