I like the way Maryland lacrosse coach John Tillman is downplaying the Terps' 14-7 win against North Carolina in the quarterfinals as they prepare for Johns Hopkins Saturday.
The Tar Heels go soft in the postseason every year, even though it appeared that might be different in 2015. But it wasn’t. No offense to Maryland, but when the Terps put up 14 goals in a game, that’s a miracle.
So no, Tillman hasn’t been jumping up and down this week because he thinks Maryland just knocked off Goliath.
“I think it’s kind of a catch-22 with a game like that,” Tillman said.
