The mistakes had built up and the carries and snaps had decreased for Maryland running back Brandon Ross over the past month. The fumbling issues he had worked hard to eliminate during the offseason cropped back up in losses to Penn State, Iowa and Michigan State. He missed blocks in pass protection, and interim coach Mike Locksley turned to fellow running back Wes Brown more often.
By the 10th game of his senior year, Ross, who led Maryland in rushing in 2013, had fallen to second on the depth chart behind Brown, and a senior season that had started with a burst with a career day in the first game of the season seemed set to fade out.
