The Big Ten unveiled a plan Wednesday to play 18 prime-time football games on Friday and Saturday nights beginning in 2017.
The exact games that will be chosen for next season will be announced as soon as next week.
According to Big Ten associate commissioner Mark Rudner, six of the games will be played on Friday and the remainder on Saturday. Two of the games will be scheduled for the Friday of Labor Day weekend.
It is part of the new agreements the Big Ten has pending with ESPN, ABC and Fox Sports.
