Brad Sellers was driving on Interstate 270 back toward Ohio when he heard his daughter on the phone in the back seat. His wife, Kym, was in the front next to him, and Sydney was in the back talking to the youngest sibling, Shyanne, who had just been dropped off at her new apartment in College Park.
Like thousands of college freshmen every year, Shyanne would be living away from home for the first time. The fourth Sellers daughter, known as “Baby” in their hometown of Aurora, Ohio, didn’t have any friends on campus at Maryland and was already on the phone with her sister.
