Maryland football coach Michael Locksley and his offensive staff devoted much of the spring to mapping out a succession plan at quarterback following the departure of star Taulia Tagovailoa. Saturday afternoon’s spring game at SECU Stadium brought little clarity.
Billy Edwards Jr. took the starting reps for the White team in its 34-3 win over the Red squad to complete the offseason portion of what Locksley has called an open competition. The redshirt junior has the most experience in Locksley’s system after he appeared in eight games last year, starting the Terps’ victory over Auburn in the Music City Bowl.
