In Brenda Frese’s 22 seasons as Maryland women’s basketball’s coach, the Terps have grown into one of the steadiest programs in the country — making league titles and deep NCAA tournament runs the standard.
Last year, Frese’s team didn’t meet that standard. Maryland finished unranked for the second time since 2009 following a 19-14 season and a first-round exit from the NCAA tournament, a 93-86 loss to Iowa State.
