Maryland men’s basketball coach Mark Turgeon had a large group of family and friends come to Wednesday’s 70-65 victory over Nebraska at Pinnacle Bank Arena, with many of them driving a couple of hours from their homes in Kansas and Iowa.
None came as far as Turgeon’s two newest acquaintances, Gary and Nancy Michelson.
They left their home in Denver for what should be a seven-hour drive to watch the Terps play. It was a belated birthday present from Nancy Michelson to her husband, who grew up in Wheaton, Md.
