The recruiting cycle for the Class of 2017 is coming to a close, as recruits have to sign their official Letters of Intent by May 17. That means it’s almost time for Maryland basketball’s staff to start focusing on its 2018 prospects.

Slater’s a 6’6 guard from Paul VI, in Fairfax, Virginia, of the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference - which is widely regarded as one of the best in high school basketball. Slater led Paul VI to a 29-8 record behind a team-high 15.
