Maryland football added three-star tight end Tyler Devera to its 2019 class Sunday afternoon.
The Wayne, New Jersey, native and Bergen Catholic product is the No. 68 tight end in the country and No. 38 player in the state, according to the 247Sports Composite. Devera visited Maryland this weekend and pledged to Mike Locksley’s staff before leaving College Park.
Devera becomes the second tight end in Maryland’s 2019 class; three-star prospect Malik Jackson committed and signed with the Terps in December. Tight ends have been almost a non-factor in Maryland’s passing game for a couple years, although Chigoziem Okonkwo made an impact as a true freshman last year.
