Maryland football picked up a commitment from three-star running back Roman Hemby Sunday afternoon.
The in-state prospect picked up an offer from the Terps in February and visited before the COVID-19 pandemic struck. He ultimately chose Maryland over offers from Duke, NC State, West Virginia and more.
A product of John Carroll, Hemby finished his junior season with 1,412 all-purpose yards and 18 touchdowns. He is ranked as the No. 3 running back in Maryland and a top-50 player in the state.
Standing at 6’0, 195 pounds, Hemby provides an interesting frame at the running back position; not by being a small ball-carrier, but having the ability to break out of tackles with ease.
