A local kid, Blount was Maryland’s second commit in the Class of 2019, giving his verbal commitment in April 2018 under DJ Durkin’s watch. The Waldorf native sat out the early signing period, but stuck with the Terps under new head coach Mike Locksley

He was originally recruited by former defensive backs coach Aazaar Abdul-Rahim and later former special teams coordinator and linebackers coach Matt Barnes.
