HUNTINGTON — Jarquez Samuel is gone. Steve Dillon has moved on. It’s time for a new wave of defensive tackles to emerge at Marshall.
Looking from the outside, analysts almost certainly will downgrade the position. It’s understandable, as the Thundering Herd has a core of three youngsters: sophomore Nyquan Harris, junior Tomell One and sophomore Jason Smith.
Whoever starts among them will be new to that role. Fortunately for the Herd, they won’t be new to playing important downs.
Harris played all 13 games in 2015, recording 24 tackles and a sack; Smith had 11 tackles, 2.
