HUNTINGTON — Marshall football hit the turf Wednesday morning for practice No. 3 for the veterans with a few newcomers mixed in at 9:45 a.m., and will have the mostly newcomers out for their third session of “split-practices” this afternoon at 3:45 p.m. It looked a little more like real football as the Herd added shoulder pads and pads in other areas today and Thursday, then Friday is full go for the first full pads practice of the year.
With the heat back down to the 80s, after yesterday’s feels like 98-degree (and turf temps well over 110), there was some good hitting by the linemen – and a little hitting after the whistle as will happen on the first day.
