EL PASO, Texas — Domenic Artis scored 33 points as Texas-El Paso survived a scorefest Thursday night, winning 112-108 over Marshall at the Haskins Center.
The Thundering Herd (11-12, 8-2 Conference USA) had one last chance to tie the game, but Austin Loop missed a 3-point shot. UTEP’s Terry Winn missed two free throws with 10 seconds left, but Kevin Caldwell got the offensive rebound for the second time off a free throw.
The result spoiled the Herd’s highest-scoring game under second-year coach Dan D’Antoni. Marshall fell into third place in the league standings.
