HUNTINGTON — Former Marshall receiver Troy Brown will be an assistant coach for the East squad at the 91st East-West Shrine Game, played at Tropicana Field in Tampa on Jan. 23 at 4 p.m., a game televised on the NFL Network.
Senior Thundering Herd running back Devon “Rockhead” Johnson is scheduled to play in the contest for the East, and he helped the Thundering Herd to a 2-0 record in “The Trop” in St. Petersburg Bowl games, winning over FIU in 2011, 20-10, and recently beating UConn in the 2015 game, 16-10, a game in which Johnson returned from injury to gain 38 yards in 10 carries after missing six games.
