HUNTINGTON — Marshall basketball had one of those nights 21 years ago, when Keith Veney hit a NCAA record 15-of-25 threes in a 115-93 win over long time Marshall rival Morehead State on Dec. 14, 1996. The team finished with 19 made threes on 41 attempts, a Marshall and Cam Henderson Center record. Veney made 241 threes in just two seasons, but he and the No. 1 shooter of threes at MU, Tamar Slay (251 threes), have senior Austin Loop not just chasing but passing them — soon.
