HATTIESBURG, Miss. — Quinton Campbell scored 24 points and Eddie Davis added 17 as Southern Mississippi overpowered Marshall in the second half, taking a 91-76 victory over the Thundering Herd Thursday at Reed Green Coliseum.
The Golden Eagles (7-15, 4-6 Conference USA) took command midway through the second half with a 14-1 run, taking a 71-65 advantage with 6:43 left. Marshall’s Ryan Taylor fouled out shortly afterward, and the Herd (13-10, 6-4) fell further behind the rest of the game.
It was the second loss in a row for Marshall (13-10, 6-4), which faces the difficult task of snapping that skid Saturday at Louisiana Tech.
