HUNTINGTON — When Marshall entered Conference USA, nobody would have guessed the Thundering Herd would defeat Southern Mississippi five years in a row.
But that’s what has transpired, including a 31-10 victory last year over the eventual West Division champion Golden Eagles. The streak started with a 26-20 win over the eventual league champs in 2011.
But Herd head coach Doc Holliday issued a warning Tuesday during his weekly press conference — not factoring in the Herd’s struggles, these Eagles are the toughest out in several years.
