Former Virginia Tech great and Baltimore Ravens defender Cornell Brown is being hired to join the Marshall coaching staff, sources told the Gazette-Mail on Tuesday.
Based on experience, Brown would be a logical choice to coach defensive ends. That’s what he coached at Virginia Tech from 2011-15, under Frank Beamer. The Thundering Herd also is looking for an ends coach, after former assistant Sean Cronin took a job at the University of South Florida.
The connection with MU is defensive tackles coach J.C. Price, as the two were defensive linemates with the Hokies for two years. Price has been on coach Doc Holliday’s staff since 2012.
