BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Senior guard Leah Scott tied a career-high with 26 points, then hit two clutch free throws with 12 seconds left to will the visiting Marshall women’s basketball team past host UAB 64-61 Saturday afternoon at Bartow Arena.
The win moves the Thundering Herd to 14-6 overall and 4-5 in Conference USA. UAB dropped to 10-10 and 3-6 in the league, losing for just the second time this season at home — something Marshall Coach Matt Daniel was very familiar with.
“Today was a hard-fought team win, in a place that has only seen two teams get it done — Western Kentucky on Thursday and us today,” Daniel said.
