Roundup: Marshall baseball blanks Eastern Kentucky

The Marshall baseball team used solid pitching to blank Eastern Kentucky 6-0 Tuesday at Kennedy Center Field in Huntington, earning its second-straight win.

The Herd (19-15, 8-7 Conference USA) used four pitchers, who combined to allow just six hits and struck out 7 against just four walks. Marshall reliever Patrick Murphy picked up the win, allowing just two hits and striking out two in three shutout innings.

Sam Finfer belted a three-run homer and Leo Valenti had two hits for Marshall, while Tyler Ratliff smacked a double.

For Eastern (17-20), Chris Cervantes took the loss, allowing five earned runs and four hits and just one inning of work.
