HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Second-seeded Marshall baseball (32-19, 21-9 Conference USA) is set to begin the 2016 C-USA Baseball Championship, presented by Buffalo Wild Wings, on Wednesday as the Thundering Herd will play the seventh-seeded FIU Panthers (27-27, 15-15 C-USA) at 8:30 p.m. (ET) at Pete Taylor Park on the campus of Southern Miss. Marshall was won the most games in Thundering Herd Baseball history, back to 1896, and the 21 wins in C-USA is the most in any league Marshall has belonged to including the WVAIC (1924-32), the Buckeye Conference (1933-39), Ohio Valley Conference (1948-52), Mid-American Conference (1954-69; 1998-2005), the Southern Conference (1978-97) and C-USA (since 2006).
