HUNTINGTON — Five Marshall football players signed free agent contracts Saturday evening following the 2016 NFL Draft. No Marshall players were drafted this year, the first time since 2010 that no former Thundering Herd players were chosen.
Kick returner and slot receiver Deandre Reaves and offensive lineman Sebastian “Swede” Johansson have signed with the San Diego Chargers. Other recent players to sign with the Chargers included tight end Eric Frohnapfel in 2015, Doug Legursky in 2014 and CJ Spillman, who played there in 2009-10.
