HUNTINGTON — In a game that had 11 lead changes, with UTSA leading by nine in the first quarter and Marshall leading by 12 to start the fourth period, the Thundering Herd found a way and hung on for an 80-76 win over UTSA Saturday afternoon at the Cam Henderson Center.
Marshall improves to 16-6, 6-5 and over .500 for the first time this Conference USA season by winning its second C-USA game in a row, also for the first time this season. UTSA falls to 7-14, 3-8 in C-USA.
When the Roadrunners pulled within two with 2:10 to play, 78-76, the Herd turned to defense and rebounding to clinch the win.
