For the second year in a row, Marshall’s football team is playing against an interim coach.
The case of Morgan State is different, though. Last year, the Thundering Herd faced a North Texas team led by interim coach Mike Canales, who took over after the Mean Green’s cataclysmic collapse claimed Dan McCarney. Like most interim coaches, Canales served to the end of the season and moved on. (Canales is now at Utah State.)
On the other hand, Morgan State interim coach Fred T. Farrier was named in February to serve the entire season. The Bears’ job became vacant when Lee Hull left for the Indianapolis Colts just after national signing day.
