Women’s Soccer Shuts ETSU Bucs Out
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Marshall women’s soccer earned its second win in the last three matches, defeating the East Tennessee State Buccaneers, 3-0, Sunday afternoon at Hoops Family Field. Marshall and ETSU were rivals in the Southern Conference for many years, from 1977-97.
ETSU rejoined the SoCon in 2014, after withdrawing from that league in 2003 when the school dropped football — which has since been restored. Marshall improved to 2-2-1 on the season with the win, while the Bucs fell to 2-3 on the year in front of 318 at Hoops Family Field at the Marshall Veteran’s Memorial Soccer Complex
Freshman Jordan Sackaris scored her team-leading fourth goal of the season just five minutes into the match.
